The third module of the MA Game Art course at Escape Studios focused on visual effects and cinematography. For this project, I created a sci-fi subway environment that serves as the stage for a short cinematic.
A combination of assets from Fab were used for set dressing, forming the industrial subway architecture while leaving room for the VFX to take centre stage.
To further build mood, I created and layered sound effects to accompany the visual —all reinforcing the unsettling and otherworldly atmosphere. I wanted to capture a sense of unease and discovery, drawing inspiration from the neon-soaked grit of Blade Runner, the industrial tension of Half-Life 2, and the surreal transitions of 2001: A Space Odyssey.
